Chelsea rival Manchester United in Gleison Bremer chase

Chelsea will reportedly compete with Manchester United for 27-year-old Brazilian international Gleison Bremer, valued at €70 million by Juventus.

According to a report by Italian outlet Tutto Juve, Gleison Bremer is the subject of interest from Chelsea. The West London club will compete with Manchester United for the Brazilian international. Meanwhile, Juventus will demand at least €70 million to part ways with the centre-back in the summer transfer window.

Gleison Bremer and his rise in Italy

Gleison Bremer has been one of the best defenders in Serie A for nearly half a decade. The 27-year-old spent his formative years in Brazil before arriving in Europe by joining Torino in July 2018. He spent four years at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino before moving across Turin by joining Juventus in July 2022.

The move to Juventus has done wonders for Bremer’s career as he has come leaps and bounds while establishing a foothold in the Brazilian national team. The player has turned out 82 times thus far for the Bianconeri, chipping in with eight goals and one assist. Meanwhile, Bremer’s progress at Juventus has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs.

Premier League beckons?

A summer move to the Premier League might be on the cards, with Chelsea and Manchester United vying for his signature. Manchester United will delve into the market for a centre-back in the summer transfer window to replace Raphael Varane, who will depart from Old Trafford as a free agent on July 1.

So, it is hardly surprising that Gleison Bremer has been the subject of multiple scouting trips from Manchester United. However, the Red Devils face stiff competition from fellow Premier League club Chelsea in the race to sign the 27-year-old Brazilian international.

Chelsea’s interest in Bremer stems from Thiago Silva’s impending departure as a free agent. The veteran Brazilian defender will leave a gaping hole in the backline, one that his compatriot can fill. However, Juventus will only part ways with the former Torino defender if they receive bids worth at least €70 million.

Chelsea and Manchester United have the financial muscle to cough up around €70 million to secure Gleison Bremer’s services. So, a move to the Premier League might be on the cards for the Brazilian international.
