As the season winds down on Sunday, it will also commence the summer of transfer speculation within the Premier League. Tottenham, who have come under some controversy following a loss to Manchester City, have a furious boss in Ange Postecoglou, who will demand the club bring some solid players to lay the foundations for a successful season next time around.

Part of his requirement are attackers, with a new advanced midfielder indeed required to boost their creativity from central areas. Spurs are keen on Morgan Gibbs-White and could take advantage of Nottingham Forest’s financial situation, as they might have to sell some of their prized assets.

Forest were deducted points for breaching PSR rules and will undoubtedly look to profit from player sales. Currently, Gibbs-White could fetch a considerable fee. Previous reports suggested they might demand £50 million, but the current story indicates it could be £60 million or more.

In any case, Tottenham are reported to be in talks with Forest for the transfer of the 24-year-old midfielder, as Postecoglou might like the idea of having him in his squad. For now, Spurs are the front runners, but soon, things could change, as there’s reported interest from many other sides, including Arsenal

Newcastle United are also keen on bringing the brightest players from the current season and will have seen Gibbs-White fit their criteria. The 24-year-old could see the Magpies as an option should he leave Forest in the summer, although there are still question marks about Eddie Howe’s sides’ financial power ahead of the summer window.

In truth, they can probably afford to pay what’s necessary to sign a player like Gibbs-White and could compete with the Spurs for his signature. For now, these are speculation surrounding the 24-year-old’s future, as things could get more evident once the window officially opens.
