Manchester United might offer Donny van de Beek as a sweetener in the deal to sign Denzel Dumfries from Serie A champions Inter Milan.
According to a report by Italian outlet Inter Live, Denzel Dumfries is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are devising ways to sign the 28-year-old from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window. And they are mulling over offering Donny van de Beek in the deal to secure his services, although the Serie A champions will unlikely sanction that arrangement.
Donny van de Beek and his Manchester United travails
Donny van de Beek has seen his progress come to a stuttering halt since joining Manchester United from Ajax in a deal worth €39 million nearly four years ago. The Dutchman arrived at Old Trafford amid much fanfare and hype surrounding him. However, he has barely featured for Manchester United, while his loan spells at Everton and Eintracht Frankfurt have not worked out either.
The 27-year-old will return from Eintracht Frankfurt in a few weeks, with the Bundesliga club not completing a permanent move for him in the summer transfer window. However, van de Beek is surplus to requirements at Manchester United, although the Premier League club might have some use for him.
The Red Devils are considering offering the Dutchman in the deal to sign Denzel Dumfries, who has been a pivotal figure for Inter Milan in the last three years. The 28-year-old has also played his part in the Serie A-winning campaign for the Nerazzurri. However, his long-term future at San Siro is uncertain, with Manchester United keen on signing him.
An exchange deal on the horizon?

However, an exchange deal involving Donny van de Beek and Denzel Dumfries does not suit Inter Milan, as the Serie A champions want at least €20 million to part ways with the full-back in the summer transfer window.
Instead of signing van de Beek in an exchange deal to sell Dumfries, Inter Milan will be open to securing the services of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who faces an uncertain future at Manchester United heading into the summer transfer window.
Interestingly, van de Beek is reportedly a target for Inter Milan. However, an exchange deal involving the two Dutchmen does not suit the Serie A champions. So, it will be interesting to see if Manchester United will offer around €20 million to sign Dumfries.
