West Ham United are reportedly discussing a possible summer move with 31-year-old Galatasaray attacker Wilfried Zaha.
According to a report by Turkish outlet Fotomac, Wilfried Zaha is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are in contact with the 31-year-old Galatasaray attacker, with the two parties discussing a possible move to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window.
Wilfried Zaha and his Galatasaray journey so far
Wilfried Zaha has been a decent signing for Galatasaray, considering he arrived on a Bosman move last summer after leaving Crystal Palace as a free agent. While the Ivory Coast international has not been as productive as he can be, he has still managed a decent haul thus far this term.
The 31-year-old has contributed to 15 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net ten times while providing five assists. However, Zaha’s stint with Galatasaray might end after only one season, with the Turkish club considering parting ways with him in the summer transfer window.
A swift return to the Premier League, and in particular London, might be on the cards, with recent reports linking Fulham and West Ham United with the former Crystal Palace talisman. Other top-flight outfits have also shown interest in Zaha.
Premier League return on the horizon?
West Ham United’s interest in Wilfried Zaha is understandable. The East London club will likely part ways with Lucas Paqueta in the summer transfer window, with the Brazilian international considering embarking on a new adventure. While the former Crystal Palace attacker will not be a like-for-like replacement, he will take Paqueta’s spot in the offensive department in the grand scheme of things.
In addition, Zaha’s addition to the West Ham attack will add a new facet to an offensive unit that usually depends on attacking through the central areas. So, the 31-year-old is a viable target, with the Hammers already in talks with his entourage over a possible move to the London Stadium.
As iterated earlier, other Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa, are also interested in securing Wilfried Zaha’s services. With Galatasaray open to parting ways with him, we might see the 31-year-old Ivory Coast international returning to the Premier League by joining West Ham.
