Chelsea, Manchester United can sign Michael Olise for £50 million

Chelsea and Manchester United could sign Michael Olise for less than his release clause, as Crystal Palace are open to including add-ons.

According to Team Talk, Crystal Palace could accept bids well below Michael Olise’s £65 million release clause if interested clubs can make up the rest in add-ons. Chelsea and Manchester United are some of the prominent names in the mix to sign the 22-year-old PL attacker, who could potentially leave for around £50 million.

Crystal Palace to sell Michael Olise for £50 million?

Michael Olise is a man on every top club’s shortlist ahead of the summer, with Crystal Palace likely to be powerless if one of them triggers his reported £65 million release clause. A host of clubs are already interested in the 22-year-old PL attacker, including Chelsea and Manchester United.

Manchester United are keen, and if they had any doubts over his quality, then Olise proved his worth with a brace last Monday. The Red Devils are likely to part ways with one or both of Jadon Sancho and Antony, with Olise seen as the perfect replacement for the long-term future of that right wing.

Palace are now reportedly open to accepting less than his reported £65 million release clause, with the report stating they could consider bigs worth £50 million. However, the Eagles want the rest of the money to come in add-ons, which probably shows the club is open to moving away from the release clause, which could allow teams to structure the payments for the 22-year-old PL attacker.

Manchester United might benefit from such an arrangement, as they are likely to be front runners for the winger. However, there are chances they and Chelsea both miss out, considering the dup are unlikely to play the Champions League next season, something the 22-year-old PL attacker wants to do with his next club.

Will Chelsea reignite their interest in Olise?

Last summer, Chelsea reportedly triggered Olise’s then £35 million release clause, but the winger chose to reject the move and instead signed a new contract with Palace that saw an increase in his exit terms. The Bleus are reportedly willing to sell Raheem Sterling to sign Olise, but there are doubts about whether the winger will arrive.

It’s still unclear as to why Olise rejected their offer last summer, and that might be the case this time around. As mentioned earlier, the 22-year-old PL attacker will want to play Champions League football, as Chelsea might only potentially offer Conference League level if they manage to finish in the top seven.
