Everton ready to price Jordan Pickford out of Chelsea move

Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing 30-year-old English international Jordan Pickford from Everton in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea signed Robert Sanchez last summer, but the Spaniard’s performances have been underwhelming. The Blues want to replace him in the summer, and they have identified Jordan Pickford as a target. However, a report by Football Insider has claimed that Everton could price them out of a move for the 30-year-old England international.

Pickford has been a key player for Everton over the years, and he has made the England starting spot his own. There is no doubt that he is good enough to play for Chelsea, who have resurrected their interest in him. Everton are prepared to demand a premium for him.

Chelsea will have to break the bank if they want to sign the England international this summer. The Blues are going through financial difficulties due to the threat of flouting the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, and they might not be able to spend freely. They will have to comply with the financial regulations or they could be handed a points deduction.

Jordan Pickford might fancy Chelsea move

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea decide to test Everton’s resolve with an official proposal at the end of the season. Pickford could be tempted to join Chelsea this summer. It would be a huge step up in his career, and he would get to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

The 30-year-old Englishman has been fighting relegation with Everton over the last few seasons, and he might feel that this is the right time for him to move on. It will be interesting to see if the England international decides to push for a move away from Everton in the summer.

Chelsea have had a disappointing season so far, and they will need to plug the gaps in their squad to bounce back strongly next term. A club of their status should be competing in the UEFA Champions League, and they need to bring in quality players in order to achieve that.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper is well settled in the Premier League and he will be able to make an immediate impact if he joins the London club. Apart from Pickford, Chelsea are keeping tabs on the Arsenal goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale as well.
