Chelsea are looking to make a move for the services of VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy in the upcoming transfer window.
According to a report by Fichajes, Chelsea are looking to reinforce their attack in the summer by incorporating a new striker and they have their eyes set on Serhou Guirassy. The VfB Stuttgart striker has been in sensational form over the past 24 months and the Blues could end up making a surprise move for his services.
Guirassy joined Stuttgart in the summer of 2022 from Stade Rennais on a season-long loan. In his debut season for the German club, the 28-year-old scored 14 goals. The move was made permanent in the summer on the back of his impressive performances.
The African striker has been exceptional this time around. He has featured in 28 matches and has contributed towards 30 goals. He has found the back of the net on 27 occasions. His red-hot form in front of goal has resulted in a lot of interest from across Europe.
Chelsea’s search for a new number nine
Chelsea are one of the clubs keen on his signature. The Blues want to sign a new striker in the summer on a priority basis. They want someone who can guarantee goals and help them take the next step.
Victor Osimhen and Jonathan David are two forwards that the London clubs are keen on singing. They have monitored them for a while and feel the duo could do wonders for them. But, signing either of them will require a significant investment which they might not be able to afford at this point in time.
The Blues have spent a fortune on player transfer over the past few windows. As a result, they might not be able to spend big once again this summer and are looking at Guirassy as a cheaper alternative.
The 28-year-old has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga in the recent past and there is a €20 million release clause in his deal. As a result, there is a real possibility of Chelsea making a surprise move for the Stuttgart striker in the upcoming transfer window as they look to bolster their attack.
