Tottenham Hotspur press ahead with move for Eberechi Eze

Tottenham are ready to press ahead with their pursuit of Eberechi Eze, as family ties could make the winger choose the North Londoners.

According to Football Transfers, Tottenham are pressing ahead with their chase of Eberechi Eze as they have invited his family for the north London Derby. The 25-year-old Manchester City target has plenty of interest from top Premier League clubs, but Spurs may have an advantage due to the Crystal Palace star’s family ties.

Tottenham pushing for Eberechi Eze

Crystal Palace managed two key problems since last summer: extending the deals for Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze. The latter signed a new contract until 2027, but the report states he could leave the club for around £55 million, with many clubs already showing eagerness to sign him.

Manchester City are keen on the attacker, while there are rumours of an interest from rivals Manchester United. Despite missing parts of the season with injury issues, Eze has been one of the bright performers for Palace. He might have come to a stage when leaving the club for a more significant challenge would suit his ambitions.

Tottenham are also interested, with the north London side pushing ahead to pursue the 25-year-old Manchester City target. Spurs have reportedly invited Eze and his family for the North London Derby against Arsenal, which is symbolic considering he spent five years with the Gunners before they let him go.

Spurs would like a player of Eze’s calibre to become a part of their team for next season, as Ange Postecoglou eyes someone of his attacking presence. Spurs will hand the Australian manager the required budget for big signings, and they surely hope Eze will be part of the group in the summer.

Eze to reject Manchester City for Spurs?

The report states that his family ties with Tottenham could see Eze reject Manchester City’s overtures for a move to north London. Spurs are hoping his family’s visit on Sunday for the North London Derby can help Eze decide about a move, but the road is still long before he signs.

If they are serious about the player, Manchester City will make a concerted push and are reportedly willing to pay big if needed. Hence, Spurs may have to dig deep but the report states Eze might prefer a move to north London over other Premier League sides in the summer.
