Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Lecce left-back Patrick Dorgu, who dreams of playing for Chelsea.

According to a report by Tuttosport via Sport Witness, Tottenham have initiated contact to sign US Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu. But he dreams of joining Chelsea instead. However, there has been no mention of concrete interest from Chelsea so far, and it will be interesting to see whether the Blues are keen on him.

Dorgu is highly rated in Italian football, and he has a big future ahead of himself. He will hope to join a big club in the near future and the opportunity to play for Tottenham or Chelsea will be an exciting proposition for him.

However, the young defender must look to join the club where he will get regular first-team action. A move to Tottenham might not be ideal for him. Destiny Udogie is already the first-choice left-back at the club, and the North London outfit have Ryan Sessegnon and Ben Davies at their disposal as well. They will not be able to accommodate the 19-year-old in their starting lineup any time soon.

Patrick Dorgu dreams of joining Chelsea

The player is reportedly keen on a move to Chelsea, and it will be interesting to see if the Blues decide to make a move for him at the end of the season. They could certainly use more quality and depth in the left back department.

Although Chelsea have Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella at their disposal right now, the Spanish defender has been quite underwhelming since his big money move from Brighton & Hove Albion and might need to be replaced soon amid his links with Aston Villa. Dorgu could be the ideal replacement for Cucurella at Stamford Bridge next season.

The 19-year-old has the quality to replace him, and he could compete with Chilwell for the starting spot. Both Tottenham and Chelsea have the final resources to get the deal done, and it will be interesting to see which of the two clubs come forward with an official proposal first. The Serie A outfit will not want to lose a prized young asset cheaply, and they will demand a €20 million for the young defender.
