Manchester United recently dispatched scouts to watch 19-year-old Brazilian attacking sensation Thalys in action for Palmeiras’s under-20 side.

According to a report by ESPN Brasil, Thalys is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are scouring the market for a young attacker heading into the summer transfer window. And they recently sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old attacking sensation in action for Palmeiras under-20 this week.

Thalys: The Latest Palmeiras Wonderkid

Thalys has come leaps and bounds since joining Palmeiras from Clube de Regatas Brasil in April 2021. A native of São Miguel dos Campos, the teenage sensation has gone from strength to strength in the last three years. However, he is yet to establish a foothold in the first-team squad at the club, unlike fellow prospect like Endrick.

However, the 19-year-old is the latest Palmeiras wonderkid to rise in prominence after Endrick, Estevao Willian, and Luis Guilherme. The Brazilian attacking sensation has been excellent thus far in the 2024 season, scoring five goals in seven appearances across his outings in Copinha and CBF Brasileiro Under-20.

The youngster’s progress at Palmeiras has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. European bigwigs like Barcelona and Chelsea have shown interest in the Palmeiras whizkid. However, Manchester United might be his destination heading into the summer transfer window.

Manchester United Keen

Manchester United’s interest in Thalys is understandable. The Red Devils will part ways with Anthony Martial in the summer transfer window after he becomes a free agent. That will leave Manchester United with Rasmus Hojlund as the only recognised striker in the first-team squad, although Marcus Rashford is also an option.

Several candidates have thus emerged on Manchester United’s radar, with the Palmeiras prodigy being a viable target. The latest report has revealed that the Red Devils dispatched scouts to watch the 19-year-old Brazilian attacking sensation in action for Palmeiras under-20 against Corinthians.

The report by ESPN Brasil does not reveal any other prospective suitors for Thalys’s services. So, Manchester United might have the advantage in the race to sign the teenage prospect if they launch the offensive to land him in the coming weeks.
