Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino and his staff are unhappy with the development of their 23-year-old forward Mykhailo Mudryk.

According to a report by Football Insider, Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff at Chelsea are not really impressed with what they have seen from Mykhailo Mudryk. They are unimpressed by his development since arriving at the club.

Mudryk showed great promise during his day at Shakhtar Donetsk and that is why multiple top clubs wanted to sign him. Arsenal were one of the clubs linked with the Ukrainian international before Chelsea ended up winning the race for his services.

The Blues broke the bank and forked out a reported fee of £88.5 million for the 23-year-old winger at the start of 2023. He was expected to establish himself in their first team and be the next big thing. Unfortunately, things haven’t gone according to plan for the player as well as the club.

Mudryk has struggled to get going and he hasn’t yet cemented his place in the starting XI. In the ongoing season, the former Shakhtar winger has featured in a total of 33 matches, starting in 16 of those fixture and he only has six goals and two assists.

Pochettino & company unimpressed by Mudryk

According to the report, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino and his coaches are not really impressed with what they have seen from the 23-year-old. They have been in charge since the summer and his development hasn’t pleased them.

They have reportedly grown frustrated from his lack of impact as he was expected to be one of the leaders of their attack. With the Ukrainian international not living up to the expectations, the Blues are now looking to reinforce their attack ahead of next season.

They are planning to sign a marquee winger in the upcoming transfer window. The London club have been linked with Athletic Club star Nico Williams. Reports suggest they have started to make moves to land him at Stamford Bridge.

With the Blues looking to sign a new winger, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Mudryk. who penned down a huge contract that runs until 2031 when he joined Chelsea.
