Premier League sides received a boost in their pursuit of Georgiy Sudakov, with Shakhtar Donetsk ready to sell the playmaker.

According to HITC, some clubs keen on Georgiy Sudakov could get a big chance to sign him in the summer, with Shakhtar Donetsk ready to sell the playmaker. Arsenal, Chelsea, or Liverpool would need a good enough price tag, well over £35 million, to secure the Ukrainian.

Shakhtar Donetsk ready to sell Georgiy Sudakov

Georgiy Sudakov has emerged as Shakhtar Donetsk’s next big prospect and is expected to bring big money into the club with a transfer in the summer. The Ukranian side achieved around £88 million when they sold Mykhailo Mudry to Chelsea over a year ago and are now open to letting the 21-year-old playmaker leave for a considerable fee.

Sudakov signed a new deal until 2028, with a £100 million release clause attached to his contract. Shakhtar insists they want to make as much money as possible from his sale, as they are aware that the growing interest from top clubs gives them less chance of keeping the playmaker.

Arsenal are one of the sides keen, although Mikel Arteta may consider Sudakov an opportunistic signing rather than a necessity. Liverpool has shown interest and are viewed as a frontrunners as things stand, with the club hierarchy willing to invest and recruit young talents with a more significant upside for the future.

Chelsea have been one of the main contenders for some of the top young talents. Back at the end of 2023, reports suggested Mudryk had urged the club to bring Sudakov, and the Blues might continue to keep tabs on the Ukranian’s situation. The £35 million-plus-rated playmaker is likely to have a choice of clubs with offers in the summer.

How much will Shakhtar demand for Sudakov?

Shakhtar reportedly rejected a bid of around £35 million from Napoli for Sudakov in January. At that time, the £35 million-plus-rated playmaker insisted the club was looking to maximise its profits from a supersale in the summer, meaning it would take well over that sum to convince the Ukrainian side.

Hence, Arsenal, Liverpool, or Chelsea may have to work out a good enough bid, which could be more than £40-45 million, to tempt Shakhtar into an agreement. As for Sudakov, he will have to choose the right club that will suit his career more than it would fit his pockets when the summer window opens up.
