Aston Villa and West Ham United are reportedly vying for the signature of 28-year-old RCD Mallorca goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic.

According to a report by Serbian outlet MaxBet Sports, a move to the Premier League might be on the cards for Predrag Rajkovic. The 28-year-old might be available for only €10 million in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Aston Villa and West Ham United are interested in signing the goalkeeper from La Liga club RCD Mallorca.

Who is Predrag Rajkovic?

Predrag Rajkovic has established himself as one of the most underrated goalkeepers in La Liga since joining RCD Mallorca from Stade Reims in July 2022. The Spanish outfit shelled out only €2 million to sign the Serbian international, who has been worth the investment.

The Pirates have been looking over their shoulders for the relegation battle in La Liga this term. But Rajkovic has been among the bright spots for RCD Mallorca in a frustrating campaign. The 28-year-old has kept eight clean sheets in 29 La Liga games, conceding 35 goals.

However, Rajkovic’s long-term future with RCD Mallorca is uncertain, with several clubs from across Europe setting their sights on him. A move to the Premier League might be on the cards, with Aston Villa and West Ham United vying for his signature.

Premier League Calling?

Aston Villa’s interest in Predrag Rajkovic is understandable. While Emiliano Martinez has been an excellent performer for the Midlands outfit, Robin Olsen might depart from Villa Park in the summer transfer window. The RCD Mallorca goalkeeper has thus emerged as a viable target for Aston Villa.

As for West Ham United, Lukasz Fabianski is in the twilight of his career. In addition, Alphonse Areola is on the wrong side of 30. So, it behoves West Ham to invest in a goalkeeper who has yet to turn 30. Mile Svilar is thus one of the targets for the East London club, although Rajkovic is also an option worth considering.

The 28-year-old Serbian international will not cost a bomb, with the report suggesting he will have a price tag of around €10 million. It will be interesting to see if Aston Villa and West Ham are ready to invest such a sum to sign him from La Liga club RCD Mallorca in the summer transfer window.
