Chelsea will reportedly seek talks with Serie A champions Napoli to discuss possible payment terms for Victor Osimhen.

According to reputed Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Chelsea will look to discuss payment terms with Napoli for the release clause in the contract of Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian international, the West London club’s top target for the summer transfer window, has an exit clause worth €130 million in his deal with the Serie A champions.

The Rise and Rise of Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen has established himself as one of the best strikers in the world since joining Napoli from LOSC Lille in September 2020. The 25-year-old was a highly-rated attacker during his stints with Les Dogues and VfL Wolfsburg. And he has lived up to that billing during his stint at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

The Nigerian international took some time to get going but has become a pivotal figure in the last two seasons. He was tremendous as Napoli ended a wait of nearly three decades to win the Serie A title. However, Osimhen has not performed at the same level this term, even though he has a decent record of 13 goals and four assists in 25 appearances across all competitions.

Osimhen recently signed a new contract with Napoli, including a release clause worth €130 million. The update in his terms has taken the matter of his future out of the Serie A club’s hand while alerting his admirers. And the prolific striker has no shortage of suitors, with Chelsea keen on beating the competition to his signature.

Chelsea Interested

Chelsea’s interest in Victor Osimhen is understandable. The Blues have solved their goalscoring woes to some extent this season. However, Mauricio Pochettino does not have many reliable performers in the final third apart from Cole Palmer, who has done the bulk of scoring for the West London club this term.

Osimhen has thus emerged as the top target for Chelsea to bolster the offensive unit in the summer transfer window. They are now seeking talks with Napoli to discuss payment terms for his release clause of €130 million.

The 25-year-old Nigerian international is ready to join the Blues despite their recent struggles. But with Chelsea under the pump in the bid to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, they will need favourable payment terms to land Osimhen.

    Hello Chelsea fans,
What if Chelsea sign Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP (Portugal)
    He is a complete player.
He is more technical,He can link up with other players.
Osimhen is a goals scorer but his technic is not good as Viktor Gyökeres technic, and apart from that,Osimhen is very expensive.
I think Viktor Gyökeres can be available at €100 millions, where as Osimhen buyout clause is €130 millions.

Viktor Gyökeresi sa player who can make his team mates play,I mean gives passes to his mates.
