Reece James has no intentions of leaving his childhood club Chelsea amidst reports linking him with Real Madrid.

According to a report by HITC, Reece James is not keen on leaving Chelsea in the upcoming summer transfer window. While the English full-back has been linked with a move elsewhere, he is focused on regaining full fitness before the end of the season and making it to England’s Euro 2024 squad.

James’ rise and his recent struggle with injuries

James has been a part of Chelsea since his childhood days. He came up the ranks at some pace and made it to their first team in the summer of 2019. He went from strength to strength in the initial years. The 24-year-old has done wonders for them and he is considered to be one of the world’s best in his position.

But, the recent seasons haven’t gone according to plan for the England international. He could only feature in 16 league games last season because of injuries. And, things have gone from bad to worse this term as he has eight league appearances and less than 500 minutes of first-team football across all competitions.

Reece James to continue at Chelsea

Chelsea are currently assessing their financial situation. They have spent a fortune on player transfers over the past few windows and it could force them to offload multiple players in the summer. And, it is one of the major reasons why the 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club.

He is a homegrown player and funds raised from his sale would be listed as direct profit. However, the club has no intentions to sanction his departure and even the player doesn’t want to make a move away from his childhood club.

James is focused on returning from injury before the end of the season and featuring in the Euros for England. After that, he wants to continue at the London club.

Real Madrid are the club keen on his signatures and they have been linked with the 24-year-old. Los Blancos have been monitoring him for a while now and would love to have him in their ranks in the future. But, he is not in their plans for the upcoming summer transfer window.
