OGC Nice will reportedly demand £40 million to part ways with Jean-Clair Todibo, a target for Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

According to a report by talkSPORT, Jean-Clair Todibo might leave OGC Nice in the summer transfer window. Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing him. And the Ligue 1 outfit will demand around £40 million to part ways with the in-demand 24-year-old defender in the summer transfer window.

The Jean-Clair Todibo Renaissance

Jean-Clair Todibo has resurrected his stuttering career since joining OGC Nice from Barcelona in 2021. The French club initially signed him on loan in the winter transfer window of 2021 before completing a permanent transfer in the summer. The Frenchman spent his formative years in his homeland before graduating from the youth division at Toulouse FC.

The 24-year-old quickly rose in prominence at Toulouse FC before Barcelona came calling in January 2019. However, while he had a few positive moments at the Catalan club, his stock soon plummeted. Two loan spells away from Barcelona helped him regain confidence before completing a permanent move to OGC Nice.

The French international has also broken into his national time while turning out 128 times thus far for OGC Nice. Meanwhile, Todibo’s progress at the Ligue 1 club has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. A move to the Premier League might be on the cards, with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur vying for his signature.

Premier League Move on the Cards?

Manchester United’s interest in Jean-Clair Todibo is understandable. The Red Devils might part ways with Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans in the summer transfer window. In addition, Harry Maguire is on the wrong side of 30. As for Tottenham, the North London club signed two centre-backs in the last two transfer windows.

But Eric Dier will likely complete a permanent departure from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer transfer window. In addition, Japhet Tanganga faces an uncertain future at the North London club. Meanwhile, Manchester United and Tottenham can secure Todibo’s services in a cut-price deal worth £40 million.

While recent reports claimed that OGC Nice might block a summer move for Todibo, the Ligue 1 club will instead demand £40 million to part ways with him. So, it will be interesting to see if Manchester United or Tottenham can land him in the summer transfer window.
