Fabrizio Romano has allayed fears about Luis Diaz’s future amid La Liga links as he reiterated the Colombian’s commitment to Liverpool.

Fabrizio Romano on Caught Offside, dismissed any potential move for Luis Diaz in the summer, insisting that the Colombian remains committed to Liverpool. The winger’s father recently expressed his desire to see his son play in Spain, but the Italian transfer guru allayed any fears related to the attacker’s future at Anfield.

Fabrizio Romano comments on Luis Diaz’s future

Luis Diaz has been fantastic for Liverpool this season despite the kidnapping of his father earlier in the campaign. On a personal level, the winger has suffered, but he has since regained his form and has been helping the Reds to challenge for the Premier League title.

Lately, there have been rumblings of a potential move away from the club. It’s not the case only with Diaz, as many other stars of the team have been linked with a move away, as these rumours have stemmed from the fact that Jurgen Klopp will depart Liverpool in the summer.

Barcelona were linked with a move but will have to pay a crazy fee even to make the Merseysiders consider any offers for the 27-year-old Liverpool star. Real Madrid were interested before, but in recent times things have yet to surface about their chances of signing the player.

Another report stated Liverpool would demand €140 million to let Diaz leave the club, which has more or less killed any hopes for Barcelona. The winger’s father recently expressed his desire to see Diaz play in Spain, which has brought back the linked to one of the La Liga giants. Instead, Fabrizio Romano has allayed all fears and insisted the winger remains committed to the Merseysiders.

Romano said, “Some fans may have raised an eyebrow after comments from Luis Diaz’s father hinting that he and his son would like to see him play for a top Spanish club, but I’d not look at Luis’s father words like something negative,”

“He was just replying to questions about Spanish clubs wanting his son in the past, and he was keeping options open for the future, it’s something normal, but Diaz is happy at Liverpool, super committed and he’s showing that in every single game. I don’t see any big chaos into those words, honestly.”

No chance of a La Liga move for Diaz

Incidentally, PSG are linked with a move for Diaz, as they probably view the 27-year-old Liverpool star as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe. The latter has a big chance to join Real Madrid in the summer, which effectively rules out any move for Diaz to the Bernabeu.

Meanwhile, at the prices Liverpool will demand for the winger, Barcelona will have to bow out of the race owing to their financial situation. Hence, as things stand, the two most biggest clubs in Spain are not in the race for the winger one way or another, meaning Liverpool fans will not have to worry about him heading into next season.
