Chelsea hopes a Saudi Arabian side comes with a big offer for Romelu Lukaku, with the club aiming to sell the attacker.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness, Chelsea is eager to sell Romelu Lukaku in the summer, preferably to Saudi Arabia. The upcoming window is the last chance saloon for the Blues to recoup something from the sale of the 30-year-old attacker, with Roma also in the race based on their conditions.

Chelsea want Lukaku sale to Saudi Arabia

Chelsea are still facing a big problem in the form of Romelu Lukaku ahead of the summer. It was baffling that a club of their status could not sell a problematic forward on whom they had previously invested a then-club record sum.

Lukaku got his way and returned to Italy, although Chelsea were hoping to sell him to Saudi Arabia then. Al Hilal have already made a big offer for the Belgian, although the striker has yet to decide on his immediate future and may sit tight until the summer window opens.

Chelsea reportedly demanded around €43 million for the unwanted 30-year-old attacker, something the Saudi sides might come to pay. Al Hilal were also interested in Lukaku in the summer window when the 30-year-old attacker rejected the approach over a stay in Europe.

Chelsea are also facing financial troubles, which may see them sell some renowned stars. In Lukaku ‘s case, they want to sell him, although the sums mentioned will not help them on the accounting side. They will still hope to get a decent chunk back, and for this purpose, the Blues are hoping for a sale to Saudi Arabia.

Roma are part of the Lukaku chase

Roma are utterly impressed by Lukaku’s performances this season and remain eager to find a way to keep him. Lukaku remains keen to stay here, although he’s aware of the conditions for the club to make his loan signing permanent.

For starters, Roma has outlined the need to qualify for the Champions League, as only then can they afford his €43 million fee. Hence, should any Saudi club come with a big offer for the 30-year-old attacker, things could start moving away from Roma’s grasp.
