Manchester United players are reportedly open to the club bringing Mason Greenwood back despite the nature of his problems.
According to The Sun, Manchester United stars are not opposed to Mason Greenwood returning to Old Trafford. The report states it’s more of a ‘sporting’ call over anything to do with personal opinion, although there will be controversy should he return to the club.

Mason Greenwood remains away from England, Manchester United and the spotlight of the English media as he continues to make a mark in La Liga. Getafe faced the brunt of taking a controversial decision to sign the 22-year-old on loan from the Red Devils.
Greenwood has not played for Manchester United since his arrest in January 2022 on rape charges. The Crown prosecutor has since dropped those accusations, although a backlash from fans ensured Manchester United did not decide to keep playing him.
Greenwood’s contract at the club ends in 2025, meaning he is in line to return unless the Red Devils sell him to some interested teams. Atletico Madrid are keen, and Getafe might also explore keeping him there.
The 22-year-old Barcelona target is certainly not bound for Catalunya or Real Madrid, for that matter, meaning there are chances of a return to Old Trafford. Current Manchester United players are reportedly backing him from a ‘sporting’ point of view should Greenwood choose to return to his old pastures.

While there are chances of the striker returning to Old Trafford, the club had hinted they might be open to the idea. However, Manchester United might decide against it and then sell him for whatever money they get for the controversial player with a year left on his deal.
The Women’s team at Manchester United had furiously opposed the club’s decision not to cancel his contract and will undoubtedly stand in front should Greenwood return next summer. As things stand, the Red Devils might decide on the forward in May when the season ends and then make their call on what to do with him, including the option of a return to Old Trafford.
