Donyell Malen has been linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund, with Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United interested.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with Donyell Malen. But reputed German journalist Florian Plettenberg has now revealed that the Red Devils are not pushing to sign him.

The 25-year-old has 13 goals and five assists in all competitions this season, and he is valued at €40-50 million. Manchester United backing out of the race will come as a major boost for Arsenal and Liverpool. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs decide to come forward with an offer to sign him.

Donyell Malen is a proven performer in the Bundesliga, and he could prove to be a solid acquisition for Arsenal and Liverpool as well. Arsenal need more quality in the wide areas and the arrival of the 25-year-old will allow them to rotate players like Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka more often. Malen has thus emerged as a viable target.

Donyell Malen will relish Arsenal return

Malen was a youth player for Arsenal before leaving the club for greener pastures, and the return to his former club might be an exciting opportunity for him. The Dutchman will feel that he has unfinished business at Arsenal, and he will look to make his mark with the first team.

Meanwhile, Liverpool need more depth in the attack as well. Cody Gakpo has not been able to live up to the expectations this season, and Liverpool might need to invest in a versatile forward who will chip in with goals and creativity next season. Donyell Malen will be available for a reasonable price, and he would be a quality acquisition.

Meanwhile, Manchester United need a player like him as well, and it will be interesting to see if they decide to move for other targets. Players like Jadon Sancho and Antony have not been able to live up to the expectations at Old Trafford, and they need more quality in the wide areas. But despite the links, they are not seriously pursuing his signature.

The Borussia Dortmund attacker could have been a handy option for them. Meanwhile, Malen will relish the opportunity to showcase his qualities in the Premier League, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. He is at the peak of his career right now, and he will look to hit the ground running in English football if a move goes through.
