Everton might reportedly look to sign 18-year-old English left-back from EFL Championship club Sunderland in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by The Sun, Oliver Bainbridge is the subject of interest from Everton. The Toffees are scouring the market for a left-back heading into the summer transfer window. And they are closely monitoring the progress of the 18-year-old at EFL Championship club Sunderland.
Who is Oliver Bainbridge?
Oliver Bainbridge is one of the most promising young left-backs in England. The teenage prodigy has spent most of his formative years with Sunderland and currently plies his trade for the Wearside outfit’s under-21 side. Primarily a left-back, the English full-back can also play as a centre-back if the situation requires him to take the spot.
Interestingly, the youngster made his debut for Sunderland’s under-18 side as a 15-year-old. The 18-year-old has been representing the under-21 team for nearly two years, showcasing the promise in his game. Meanwhile, Bainbridge has turned out ten times in Premier League 2 this season, chipping in with an assist.
The young full-back’s progress at Sunderland has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several Premier League clubs. And a move to Everton might be on the cards, with the Merseyside club keeping tabs on his growth at the Wearside outfit in the last few years.
