Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly in the pole position to sign the £60 million-rated Pedro Neto, a target for Tottenham.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Pedro Neto is gaining popularity in the market. Liverpool, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Portuguese international. Wolverhampton Wanderers want £60 million to part ways with him in the summer transfer window, with the Reds and the Citizens leading the race to secure his services.

Pedro Neto and his Wolves Journey

Pedro Neto has come leaps and bounds since joining Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2019. A highly-rated prospect who could not make his mark at Lazio, the 24-year-old has been a solid performer for the Black Country outfit in the last half a decade.

The Portuguese international has done exceedingly well to overcome his fitness issues, especially this season. Neto has three goals and 11 assists in 23 appearances across all competitions thus far this term. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur.

A Man in Demand

Neto has been on Liverpool’s radar for a long time. But recent reports have suggested that the Reds are apprehensive about signing him due to his recent injuries. However, amid uncertainties surrounding Mohamed Salah’s future, Liverpool can do with a new wide attacker, making the 24-year-old a viable target.

As for Manchester City, they recently joined the race to sign Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Jeremy Doku has not been a resounding success thus far at the Etihad, while Jack Grealish has seen his stock plummeting this term. So, it behoves Manchester City to scour the market for a winger.

Widespread reports have also linked the Portuguese international with Tottenham. The North London giants have heavily bolstered their attack in the last two transfer windows. But TEAMtalk has suggested that Liverpool and Manchester City are the front-runners to sign him. In addition, they should be financially adept enough to pay £60 million to secure his services.

While Tottenham can also hypothetically afford to pay £60 million, Liverpool and Manchester City are jostling for the front-runner spot in the race to sign Neto. With the race to sign the 24-year-old heating up, it will be interesting to see where he lands if he leaves Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer.
