Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is being courted by Premier League sides Liverpool and Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Arenanapoli.it, Chelsea and Liverpool are among a host of big sharks interested in signing Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia when the transfer market reopens this summer.

When Napoli snapped up Kvaratskhelia from Dinamo Butami in 2022, only months after leaving Rubin Kazan due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, it was believed that they had secured a potential quality signing for the future.

Instead, the fleet-footed Georgian winger proved to be one of the club’s shrewdest acquisitions in their history, going on to star in a Serie A title-winning campaign.

He produced 12 goals and 13 assists in Italy’s top flight, while a further two goals and four assists arrived in the Champions League, catapulting his status of one of Europe’s most sought-after players.

Although Napoli’s form has since dropped off, the 22-year-old has continued to shine, chipping in with nine strikes and five assists from his 25 league appearances in 2023–24.

The most recent of them came in a 2-1 victory against Juventus on Sunday evening, which will further fuel speculation of a move elsewhere.

Will Liverpool or Chelsea sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia?

Chelsea and Liverpool, along with La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, are said to be monitoring the situation.

The Reds found themselves sweating towards the end of the last summer transfer window, with Salah continually linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.

A huge £150 million bid was rejected by the Reds, but they now know that they may not be able to resist the Egyptian winger’s temptation this summer.

Granted, the 22-year-old is at his happiest on the left-hand side, which is the opposite flank to Salah, but if there is an opportunity to sign the dazzling winger next summer, the Reds must do all they can to get him.

From Chelsea’s perspective, failure to secure European football for next season could scupper their chances of a deal, with Kvaratskhelia currently competing in the Champions League. The likeliest way left for the Londoners to make this a reality would be to win the FA Cup, which would guarantee Europa League football for 2024/25.

Kvaratskhelia’s father, Badri, has recently claimed that his son will continue to ply his trade in Naples.

Napoli are already in a strong negotiating position thanks to Kvaratskhelia’s deal, which has over three years to run, but they are keen to reward him with “mega salary” to avoid his potential sale to 2025. A hefty release clause could also be inserted, similar to Osimhen’s improved deal.
