La Liga champions Barcelona are reportedly considering offering a two-year contract to Adrien Rabiot, a target for Arsenal and Manchester United.

According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Adrien Rabiot is the subject of interest from Barcelona. The reigning La Liga champions are preparing a two-year contract for the 28-year-old. Meanwhile, the Juventus midfielder, who might leave the Bianconeri as a free agent in the summer transfer window, is also a target for Arsenal and Manchester United.

The Adrien Rabiot Story

Adrien Rabiot has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world since joining Juventus in July 2019. The French international spent most of his formative years in his homeland, although he also had a short stint with Manchester City. But he graduated from the Paris Saint-Germain youth division, spending nearly a decade at the club.

Rabiot’s stint with PSG ended in acrimony, as he departed from Parc des Princes as a free agent. He took some time to get going at Juventus but has been excellent in the last few seasons. A mainstay in the middle of the park, the 28-year-old has chipped in with four goals and three assists in 23 appearances thus far this term.

Meanwhile, the Frenchman was a part of the squad that ended the 2022 FIFA World Cup as the losing finalist. As for his future at the club level, the player has entered the final six months of his contract. Such a situation has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of high-profile clubs like Barcelona, Manchester United, and Arsenal.

A Man in Demand

Barcelona considered signing Adrien Rabiot last summer before a move failed to materialise. The continued interest in the 2022 FIFA World Cup finalist is understandable, considering Oriol Romeu faces an uncertain future at the Catalan club. And Barcelona might soon present a two-year contract to him if he leaves Juventus as a free agent.

As for Arsenal and Manchester United, the two Premier League clubs are in the market for a midfielder. While Arsenal will likely offload Thomas Partey and look for his replacement, Manchester United will not complete a permanent move for Sofyan Amrabat, with Christian Eriksen also facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford.

So, Arsenal and Manchester United will compete with Barcelona for Rabiot’s signature. But it will be interesting to see if the Blaugrana can beat the competition to the signature of the 28-year-old French international.
