Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly preparing summer offers for midfield and Barcelona target Amadou Onana.

According to Sport, Arsenal and Manchester United might test Everton’s resolve with compelling offers for Amadou Onana once the season ends. Barcelona are also interested in the midfielder, although they could lose out due to financial obligations and their inability to pay beyond a certain point for the €60 million-rated midfielder.

Arsenal, Manchester United readying Onana offers

Arsenal and Manchester United are in the market for a new holding midfielder with hybrid qualities such as Amadou Onana’s. The Everton midfielder has been on the radars of some of the top clubs since the Toffees were given a 10-point deduction for FFP. There are money troubles at Goodison Park, which may cause them to sell the Belgian.

The Toffees reportedly wants at least €60 million, something Arsenal are not willing to pay, and neither are some of the other sides. Manchester United have the capacity to beat Arsenal for the Belgian through this route, as the Gunners might offer Champions League football next season which the Red Devils are not big favourites to qualify for.

Either way, the two Premier League giants are reportedly preparing offers to test Everton’s resolve. The Toffees consider the Belgian as one of their prized assets and will want maximum value for him in the summer window when they will desperately need the cash.

Manchester United are planning a double raid on Everton as they are keen on Jarrad Branthwaite along with Onana. Arsenal may have done some groundwork when they held an interest in January. However, much will depend on the project and the role either side offers, alongside the money presented to Everton to determine who wins the race.

Barcelona could count itself out

Barcelona have been. They are interested in the midfielder, with Deco reportedly viewing him as the missing cog in their side. However, the Catalans are not prepared to pay his asking price, and instead, they set a limit of not more than €40 million for Onana in the summer window.

Should that be their limit, Barcelona could count themselves out of the equation, especially when it’s clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United are in the equation.
