Paris Saint-Germain are looking to make a move for the services of 29-year-old Manchester City mainstay Bernardo Silva in the summer.
According to L’Equipe via Sport Witness, Paris Saint-Germain have been interested in the services of Bernardo Silva for a while now, and they might finally make a move to land the Manchester City midfielder at the club in the summer. The Portuguese international will cost around €60 million.
PSG Looking to Replace Kylian Mbappe
PSG have received a huge blow as Kylian Mbappe has decided to part ways with the French club at the end of the season. The 25-year-old sensation has informed the club as well as the players about his decision to leave when his contract runs out in the summer.
With the French international leaving, PSG have started to plan for life without him. They are not looking to bring in a like-for-like replacement because doing that seems impossible given the kind of player Mbappe is. As a result, their focus is on signing multiple world-class players to bolster the entire squad.
Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva is one of their targets. The Portuguese international has been on their radar for years now. The attacking midfielder has often been linked with a move away from the English club, but things have never really taken shape.
PSG Want Bernardo Silva
However, that could change in the summer as PSG’s interest in the 29-year-old has intensified because of the arrival of Luis Campos at the club. The Portuguese transfer guru knows the City star from their time at AS Monaco together. He could play a big part in a potential transfer of Silva to PSG as he is their major target.
Silva has been at the English club since joining them back in 2017. He has won everything there is to win and could finally end his stint with Pep Guardiola’s team in the summer if PSG manage to strike a deal with Manchester City.
The report suggests that not only the French club but even the player is interested in a potential transfer. While he still has over two years left on his deal, there is a fairly low release clause worth €60 million in his contract with City and that could lead to his departure.
