Barcelona will not entertain any offers for 27-cap Spanish international Gavi amid his emerging links with Paris Saint-Germain.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Gavi is the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain. The reigning Ligue 1 champions are keen on signing a midfielder in the summer transfer window. But Barcelona will not entertain any offers for the 19-year-old prodigy.

The Rise and Rise of Gavi

Gavi has taken advantage of Barcelona’s dire financial situation to carve out a place for himself in the first-team squad. The teenage sensation got the opportunity to impress during the onset of the 2021/22 season after Barcelona could not invest heavily in midfielders in the summer transfer window of 2021.

The 19-year-old did not need a second invitation as he quickly established a foothold in the first-team squad. Since then, the Spaniard has come leaps and bounds, becoming a mainstay in the middle of the park for his club and country. He has already racked up 27 appearances for Spain, scoring five goals.

Meanwhile, the Spanish international has already turned out over 100 times thus far for Barcelona, chipping in with seven goals and 14 assists. Gavi’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG Want Him

PSG’s interest in Gavi might appear surprising, considering the heavy investment in midfielders in the last few summer transfer windows. But the reigning Ligue 1 champions are desperate to add to their midfield options ahead of the 2024/25 season. So, several candidates have emerged on PSG’s radar, including the Newcastle United duo of Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes.

Gavi is also a viable target for Les Parisiens, who can afford to pay the big bucks to secure his services in the summer transfer window. But PSG will unlikely land the 27-cap Spanish international this summer. Barcelona will not entertain any offers for the teenage sensation, slapping a “not for sale” tag on him.

Gavi’s name also features on the radars of Premier League bigwigs like Chelsea and Manchester City. But his suitors need to look elsewhere, with Barcelona not interested in parting ways with him anytime soon.
