According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Karim Adeyemi is the subject of interest from Barcelona. The reigning La Liga champions hold a long-standing interest in the versatile 22-year-old attacker. And they remain keen on signing the Borussia Dortmund forward, who admires the Catalan club.
Who is Karim Adeyemi?
Karim Adeyemi has been a hot property in the market for several years. A former trainee with Bayern Munich, he graduated from the SpVgg Unterhaching youth division. But the German international rose in prominence during his stint with Red Bull Salzburg, where he was a prolific attacker.
A versatile forward, the 22-year-old can play across the frontline, although he prefers to occupy the wide-attacking berths. But he has blown hot and cold throughout his stint with Borussia Dortmund. And Adeyemi has managed only two goals and two assists in 18 appearances across all competitions thus far this term.
But despite his inconsistent performances for Borussia Dortmund, the youngster’s stock remains high in the market. Reports in the last few months have linked Karim Adeyemi with high-profile clubs like Liverpool and Real Madrid. But he is also a target for Barcelona.

They even considered securing his services before he joined Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg, but a move did not materialise. However, the Catalan giants remain keen on signing the 22-year-old German international. And the youngster also seems open to moving to Catalonia.
The report has revealed recent comments by Adeyemi pointing to his admiration for the club. So, he might respond favourably if he receives an offer from Barcelona in the coming months. But the versatile attacker is on a long-term contract with Borussia Dortmund, meaning he might cost a bomb for Barcelona’s liking.
But the Blaugrana can do with a new wide attacker amid uncertainties surrounding the futures of Raphinha and Ferran Torres. They are also interested in Rafael Leao, but the AC Milan talisman will also be an expensive acquisition. So, it will be interesting to see who arrives at the Catalan club to bolster the attack this summer.
