Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing 21-year-old German international attacker Karim Adeyemi if Mohamed Salah leaves.

A report from Calciomercato claims that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Karim Adeyemi as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah. The Reds are also interested in Federico Chiesa and Leroy Sane.

The Egyptian international has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, and he could look to leave the club next summer. Liverpool will have to replace him adequately. Karim Adeyemi has thus emerged as a viable target for the Merseyside club. And the 21-year-old German could prove to be a useful acquisition.

Adeyemi is highly rated in his homeland, and he has done reasonably well for Borussia Dortmund this past season. He chipped in with nine goals and six assists across all competitions, and he is likely to improve with coaching and experience. Working with a manager like Jurgen Klopp will help the player improve further and fulfil his immense potential.

Liverpool will not want to lose Salah anytime soon. But they will be powerless to stop him from leaving if he decides to push for an exit next summer. A move away from the club seems highly unlikely right now. But the player could easily look to embark on a new adventure next year.

Saudi Arabian clubs have been very active in the transfer market this summer, and they have signed a number of top-class players from European leagues already. Jordan Henderson and Fabinho recently completed moves to Saudi Arabia as well.

Adeyemi is versatile enough to operate anywhere across the front three, and Klopp could groom him into a top-class attacker for the Reds. If Liverpool can sign him for a reasonable price, the move could look like a bargain in the long run.

Meanwhile, Salah might look to compete at the highest level and win major trophies with Liverpool this season. The 31-year-old is still at the peak of his powers and moving away from the club might not appeal to him just yet. And reports have claimed that Liverpool do not want to sell him.

It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few months. The Egyptian has a two-year contract left with the club and Saudi Arabian clubs will have to come forward with a lucrative offer to sign him in the near future. Meanwhile, apart from Adeyemi, Federico Chiesa and Leroy Sane are also on Liverpool’s radar.
