Tottenham and Newcastle United are in front of the queue to sign Albert Gudmundsson, with Genoa demanding at least €35 million.

According to Calcio Mercato, Albert Gudmundsson could leave Genoa for a fee of 35 million in the summer. The Icelandic international has plenty of admirers from Italy, although Tottenham and Newcastle United are considered ahead in the race for the attacker.

Genoa to demand €35 million for Albert Gudmundsson?

Genoa made the stellar sale of Radu Dragusin to Tottenham in January, as they should be strong in sticking to their asking price despite the enormous pressure to sell. The Serie A side have their next big sale in mind as Albert Gudmundsson continues attracting interest from top clubs from Italy and England.

Genoa are open to a sale; they know the player might want to experience something different than they could offer. Hence, the Serie A side are demanding a sizeable fee of €35 million from suitors and will not sell for anything less.

The suggestion is that Genoa would entertain offers around that region and not a penny less, although there are no guarantees they would sell for that price. Ideally, they would prefer to get the best price in the market, especially knowing the growing interest in Icelandic International, which has had a stellar season so far.

A host of clubs are keen, particularly from Serie A, with Napoli and Juventus few of those making advances. However, the report insists that Premier League giants Tottenham and Newcastle United are frontrunners for Gudmundsson ahead of the summer window.

Tottenham and Newcastle are keen on Gundmundsson.

The Premier League giants are seeking a versatile attacker in the next window. The media has linked them with several names for a summer transfer over the past few weeks, with Gudmundsson the latest to emerge as a target.

Gudmundsson’s ability to play across the front three positions makes him an attractive target, with the €35 million-rated attacker well within the financial range of either club. Hence, Tottenham and Newcastle United will likely battle it out for the Genoa star, although they must pay the right price to stand a chance.
