La Liga club Granada and Manchester United have reportedly sealed the agreement over a loan deal for Facundo Pellistri.

According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Facundo Pellistri will soon embark on a new adventure. The 22-year-old will return to La Liga, with Granada agreeing to a loan deal with Manchester United. The young prospect will travel to Spain on Wednesday to complete his medical checks.

Facundo Pellistri and his Manchester United Struggles

Facundo Pellistri has struggled to carve out a place for himself in the first-team squad at Manchester United since arriving from CA Penarol in October 2020. The Uruguayan international had a lot of hype surrounding him when he arrived at Old Trafford three and a half years ago.

But he has struggled to become a regular for Manchester United in the last three and a half seasons. The 22-year-old has excelled during his two loan spells in La Liga with Deportivo Alaves. Pellistri has been with Manchester United since the start of the 2022/23 season. But game time continues to come at a premium.

While the youngster has turned out 14 times, he has managed only 366 minutes of game time thus far this season. But Pellistri’s stock remains high, with many well-known clubs setting their sights on him. Recent reports have linked the Manchester United prospect with AS Roma. But his next destination will be in La Liga, where Granada will land him.

A La Liga Return on the Cards?

Granada’s interest in Facundo Pellistri is hardly surprising, considering they are in the relegation battle in La Liga. So, it behoves them to invest in an attacker who has experience in the league and can potentially hit the ground running.

The 22-year-old prospect has been keen on joining Granada in the winter transfer window. But talks between Manchester United and the Spanish club had stalled for a few days after the initial flurry. But the discussions ramped up in the last few days, with the two clubs sealing the agreement for a loan deal.

Pellistri will spend the remainder of the 2023/24 season at Granada, hoping to resurrect his career in La Liga. The Uruguayan international will undergo his medical checks on Wednesday before completing the loan move.
