Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United alerted to Callum Wilson availability

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have been offered the opportunity to acquire the services of Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson.

According to a report by 90min, Newcastle United are looking to raise funds before the end of the January transfer window and they are ready to sanction the departure of Callum Wilson. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been offered the opportunity to sign the 31-year-old striker.

Wilson has been a part of the Newcastle setup since the summer of 2020. He has featured in a total of 102 matches for the Magpies and has contributed towards 57 goals. He contributed towards 23 goals in the league last season and has continued in a similar fashion having contributed towards 8 goals but his game time has taken a hit of late.

While he could be an important squad player in the second half of the season, Wilson doesn’t have a long-term future at the club. His contract is running out in 18 months and he will be 32 next month. As a result, the Magpies are ready to negotiate his departure.

The Magpies want to raise funds in the winter and they were involved in talks with clubs for a few of their players. But, those moves have collapsed. As a result, Newcastle are looking to cash in on the 31-year-old.

With the Magpies ready to sell, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been alerted about the situation. They have been given the opportunity to sign the England international for £18 million. All three of the Premier League giants are in need of a new forward in order to reinforce their attack. And, Wilson could prove to be a great short-term fix as he has a lot of experience under his belt.

While United would love to add him to their ranks, they do not have the Financial Fair Play flexibility to sign a new striker this month. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s boss Mikel Arteta has confirmed that the new striker’s arrival is highly unlikely.

Chelsea do have a better financial situation but even they have spent millions on new players in the recent past and are unlikely to invest in a player who will turn 32 next month. They seem to be more focused on Victor Osimhen who could be available in the summer of 2024.
