Newcastle United have turned down another bid from Bayern Munich for the services of their mainstay Kieran Trippier.
According to a report by Daily Mail, Newcastle United have no intentions of parting ways with Kieran Trippier. The 33-year-old full-back is one of the mainstays of Eddie Howe’s team, and he is in no mood to let him leave at this stage. As a result, the Magpies have just rejected Bayern Munich’s third offer for the England international.
Kieran Trippier at Newcastle United: The Story So Far
Trippier returned to England in the winter of 2022. The former Tottenham Hotspur full-back joined Newcastle United in a £12 million deal and brought an end to his time in Spain. Since moving to the Tyneside club, the 33-year-old has been performing at an exceptional level.
He has played a big part in their incredible rise, which has seen them return to the Champions League. The England international has been the go-to man for Eddie Howe when the going gets tough.
Will Trippier Depart from England Again Soon?
Trippier still has around 18 months left on his deal with the Magpies, and they would love to have him until the end. But, Bayern Munich are trying their best to sign him in the ongoing window. While Newcastle do not have any intentions of selling, they won’t ignore if there is an offer too good to turn down.
As a result, the Bundesliga giants are actually in the game but for now, they have suffered yet another blow. Bayern Munich have already tried to sign him twice already, but those attempts were not good enough.
Thomas Tuchel is serious about reinforcing the right-back position because of the injury crisis and he feels Trippier is the perfect fit. That is why, the Bavarian giants went ahead and submitted a third offer worth £12.8 million on Tuesday. But, even that has been turned down.
It seems the Magpies are quite clear about sticking by their word and keep hold of their mainstay unless a crazy offer is presented to them. And, it will be interesting to see how Bayern take it from here on.
