The Blues are keen on a striker and had seen links to the Sporting CP star. But they would rather spend big in the summer on a move renowned centre-forward than the €100 million-rated striker.

Chelsea clearly need a new striker, and they have been in the market for many months. However, their preferred targets are either very expensive in January or unavailable for a transfer this month, which has seen them getting linked with alternative options.
For instance, multiple reports have linked Chelsea with a move for Viktor Gyokeres, with suggestions that they had tabled a bid for the Sporting CP star. The Swede only joined the Portuguese side in the summer from Coventry City and has been in scintillating form with 32-goal contributions this season.
