Fulham will look to sign Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea, with the Cottagers submitting an enquiry to sign the Chelsea defender.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Trevoh Chalobah is the subject of interest from Fulham. The Cottagers are keen on signing a centre-back amid uncertainties surrounding the future of Tosin Adarabioyo. So, they have approached fellow West London club, Chelsea, to discuss a move for the 24-year-old.

Trevoh Chalobah Searching for a Solution

Trevoh Chalobah has reached a crossroads in his career since Mauricio Pochettino arrived at Chelsea. He has been with the West London club since he was eight, rising through the ranks before making his first-team debut a few years ago. But he had to bide his time before establishing a foothold in the senior squad.

Thomas Tuchel’s arrival helped Chalobah’s cause, and he featured regularly under the German manager. But the 24-year-old has seen his stock plummet in the last 18 months, and he does not feature in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans. Meanwhile, he has yet to make an appearance this term as he has been recovering from a hamstring injury.

While Trevoh Chalobah is on a long-term contract at Chelsea, his future is uncertain, with the West London club ready to cash in on him. Considering the utility man is a homegrown talent, his sale will help Chelsea generate an absolute profit. Meanwhile, there is no shortage of interest in him, with Fulham interested.

A Move Across London Beckons?

Fulham’s interest in Chalobah is hardly surprising, considering Tosin Adarabioyo faces an uncertain future at the West London club. The 26-year-old has entered the final six months of his contract, compelling Fulham to scour the market for a replacement. The Chelsea utility man has thus emerged as a viable target.

Recent reports had claimed that Fulham wanted to step up the interest in Trevoh Chalobah. That has seemingly happened, with the Cottagers submitting an enquiry for the 24-year-old. With Chelsea ready to part ways with the player, a move might be on the cards.

It will be interesting to see if the two West London clubs seal an agreement over a January move or wait until the summer. But Fulham’s decision to submit an enquiry has made the Cottagers the front-runners to sign Chalobah. Crystal Palace and other suitors are now behind Fulham.
