Chelsea will reportedly compete with Barcelona and Real Madrid to sign 14-year-old Brazilian wonderkid Guilherme ‘Gui’ Ruck from Real Valladolid.

According to a report by Mundo Deportivo, as relayed by Sport Witness, Guilherme ‘Gui’ Ruck is the subject of interest from Chelsea. The 14-year-old Real Valladolid wonderkid is also a target for La Liga heavyweights like Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Who is Gui Ruck?

Guilherme Ruck, better known as Gui Ruck, is already a well-travelled prospect despite being only 14 years old. The teenage sensation has already represented nine academies in his youth career, although he has risen in prominence during his ongoing stint with Real Valladolid.

A native of the Angra dos Reis municipality in Rio De Janeiro, the Brazilian wonderkid is a promising midfielder who has come leaps and bounds at the Spanish club. Meanwhile, the youngster’s exploits in age-group football in Spain have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea.

High in Demand

Barcelona and Real Madrid often lock horns for the brightest young prospects across the world. They have waged battles in the transfer market for Neymar, Endrick, and Pablo Torre, among others. Gui Ruck is the latest prodigy to emerge on the radar of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Both clubs have youth-centric projects, with Xavi Hernandez promoting the culture during his spell with FC Barcelona, while Florentino Perez has overseen the young revolution as the Real Madrid president. But the two La Liga heavyweights face stiff competition from Premier League bigwigs, with Chelsea joining the race to sign him.

The Blues have scoured the market for Brazilian prospects under the Todd Boehly-led regime. Such an outlook has seen Chelsea sign Angelo Gabriel, Deivid Washington, and others. Most recently, Estevao Willian has become the top target for the West London club. And Chelsea will now lock horns with Barcelona and Real Madrid for Gui Ruck.

The 14-year-old Brazilian wonderkid will likely carry a high asking price, favouring Chelsea and Real Madrid. But Brexit rules might leave Los Blancos as the leading club in the chase, although Barcelona will likely go from pillar to post to land the teenage sensation.
