Anthony Martial is reportedly ready to turn down a move to the Saudi Pro League, with West Ham United keen on signing him.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Anthony Martial is the subject of interest from West Ham United. UEFA Champions League regulars Inter Milan and Fenerbahce are also interested in the Frenchman. Meanwhile, the nine-season Manchester United veteran is uninterested in moving to Saudi Arabia.

The Anthony Martial Story

Anthony Martial has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Manchester United from AS Monaco. Currently in his ninth season at Old Trafford, the 28-year-old is a veteran of sorts for Manchester United. But he has not fulfilled the potential he showed when he arrived at the club in 2015.

The French international was the next big thing and drew comparisons with Thierry Henry after an excellent debut with Manchester United. But he has barely had many memorable campaigns as a Manchester United. Martial’s stock has particularly plummeted in the last few seasons, and he has barely featured this term.

Fitness issues and illness have also troubled Anthony Martial, who has managed only 629 minutes of game time across 19 appearances thus far this season. Meanwhile, the player has entered the final six months of his contract with Manchester United and will likely leave as a free agent in the summer transfer window. The Red Devils are also ready to part ways with him.

Set for a New Adventure

Martial does not have a shortage of suitors pursuing him, with West Ham United joining the race to sign him. The Hammers were also interested in the summer transfer window. But a move did not materialise, with Manchester United keeping hold of him. However, West Ham’s continued interest in the 28-year-old is understandable despite his recent struggles.

Michail Antonio and Danny Ings are on the wrong side of 30, with neither player being a reliable customer. So, it behoves West Ham United to invest in a striker, with Anthony Martial emerging as a viable target. The nine-season Manchester United veteran is also a target for Inter Milan and Fenerbahce.

Meanwhile, Saudi Pro League clubs are also keen on signing the Frenchman. But he does not want to move to Saudi Arabia as he feels he has unfinished business in Europe. So, it will be interesting to see what the future has in store for him as he gets ready to leave Manchester United.
