Fulham are set to miss out on Serhou Guirassy as Guinea forward could choose a bigger side over the Cottagers.

According to The Telegraph, Fulham could miss out on Serhou Guirassy this month as the Stuttgart forward might choose a different option. The Cottagers have explored a move for the Guinea forward owing to his modest £15 million release clause, although they could start looking at alternatives now.

Fulham are keen on a new striker in January

Fulham have been looking for a new striker since the departure of Aleksandar Mitrovic in the summer. Despite signing Raul Jimenez, Marco Silva wanted another option to shore up his forward line, although they still had Carlos Vinicius in their ranks.

Silva dreams of being a top goalscorer to improve his side’s levels, and there are a lot of options mentioned in reports. AZ Alkmaar’s Vangelis Pavlidis remains an option as he’s having a sensational season in the Eredivisie with 18 goals to his name.

The Greek star will cost a decent sum, something Silva remains mindful about. Fulham have also considered Roberto Firmino recently, as there are suggestions the Brazilian might leave Saudi Arabia only after six months.

RB Leipzig’s Andre Silva is also an option, as the Portuguese could end his underwhelming loan spell at Real Sociedad. Hence, Fulham have kept tabs on a lot of players, but they might miss out on a big market opportunity to sign Serhou Guirassy.

Fulham will suffer a blow in the Guirassy race

Serhou Guirassy has become a big market opportunity for so many clubs. Manchester United and West Ham are contenders for the Stuttgart forward, who has a modest £15 million release clause attached to his contract, which makes him a cheap but prolific option for those interested.

Fulham have naturally shown an interest as they might have sensed a chance to land the 27-year-old Bundesliga star. Yet, there’s a feeling Guirassy will opt for more prolific stars over the Cottagers, which could involve Champions League sides.

Stuttgart will rue their decision about the £15 million release clause, as they could lose one of their most important players this season. The 27-year-old Bundesliga star has taken them into third on the league table, and with him departing, the club could soon drop down in the standings.
