Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk from La Liga club Girona in the January transfer window.

A report from The Sun has claimed that Chelsea are keeping tabs on Artem Dovbyk on the back of his impressive performances with Girona. The striker has picked up 12 goals and six assists across all competitions this season, and he has kept Girona in the title race in La Liga.

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea decide to make a move for him in January. The striker is reportedly valued at €45 million, and the Blues certainly have the finances to pay up. It is no surprise that Chelsea are looking to sign a quality striker next month.

Chelsea Desperate to Sign a Striker

Summer signing Nicolas Jackson has not been able to live up to the expectations, and Chelsea desperately need an upgrade. They need to sign a player who will hit the ground running in the Premier League and transform them in the final third.

The 26-year-old Ukrainian striker has a contract with the La Liga club until the summer of 2028, and they will not want to lose him anytime soon. Chelsea will have to meet their €45 million demand to sign the player, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.

The Blues finished in the mid-table positions last year, and they are in a similar situation this time around. A club of their stature should be challenging for major trophies, and they need to turn things around during the second half of the campaign.

They will need to sign quality players in order to finish the season strongly, and signing a striker should be a top priority for them. Even though they have spent a significant amount of money on new signings, they have not been able to return to the UEFA Champions League, and it will be interesting to see if Dovbyk can break the chain and have a defining impact at Stamford Bridge should the transfer go through.

A move to the Premier League would be an excellent opportunity for the 26-year-old striker, and it would be a major step up in his career. He will look to test himself at the highest level and prove his quality in England.
