Premier League heavyweights Arsenal are reportedly tracking the progress of 23-year-old Moroccan winger Ibrahim Salah as Ligue 1 club Rennes.
According to a report by French outlet Le 360 Sport, Ibrahim Salah is the subject of interest from Arsenal. The Gunners are in the market for a wide attacker heading into the January transfer window. So, they have sent scouts to watch the 23-year-old in action for Ligue 1 club Stade Rennais in recent weeks.
Who is Ibrahim Salah?
Ibrahim Salah is a native of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode. He spent his formative years in Belgium but has chosen to represent Morocco on the international stage. While he is yet to make his senior debut for the Atlas Lions, Walid Regragui called him up in the September international break.
Meanwhile, Salah joined his current club, Stade Rennais, from KAA Gent in January 2023. He has yet to become the first-choice winger for the Ligue 1 club. But the 23-year-old has a decent tally of five goals in 15 games this term for the Red and Blacks. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of many well-known clubs, including Arsenal.
Arsenal Keen on Ibrahim Salah
Arsenal will enter the market for a wide attacker in one of the two transfer windows next year. The January transfer window will likely see the North London club prioritising signing a striker and a centre-back. So, a move for the wide attacker will likely arrive next summer.
The Gunners have several wingers on their radar, with Pedro Neto among their top targets. But as we discussed earlier, Arsenal will not pursue the Portuguese international in the January transfer window. That might also be the case with Ibrahim Salah, the latest player emerging on their wishlist.
