Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly willing to pay €60 million to sign Real Madrid target Takefusa Kubo.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Takefusa Kubo. The three Premier League clubs are ready to trigger his release clause, worth €60 million. Meanwhile, the 22-year-old Real Sociedad winger is also a target for Real Madrid.
Takefusa Kubo And His Rise At Real Sociedad
Takefusa Kubo has found a stable footing in his career since joining Real Sociedad from Real Madrid last year. The Japanese international could not break into the first-team squad at the Santiago Bernabeu during his three-year stay at the club. Instead, he had to suffice with regular game time away from Real Madrid on loan.
Real Sociedad paid just €6.5 million to secure Kubo’s services last year. And they can make a big profit from his sale after inserting a release clause worth €60 million in the contract. Meanwhile, the 22-year-old has enjoyed a solid 2023/24 season thus far, chipping in with six goals and four assists in 24 appearances thus far.
Kubo’s progress at Real Sociedad has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of his former club, Real Madrid. In addition, many Premier League bigwigs are keen on signing the youngster. The report by Fichajes has claimed that Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are ready to pay €60 million to sign him.
Premier League Calling?
Arsenal’s interest in Takefusa Kubo stems from the need to have more competition for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli’s spots. As for Manchester United, the Red Devils have suffered on the right wing for many years. And with Jadon Sancho and Antony failing to step up, Manchester United can do with someone like Kubo.
Meanwhile, Tottenham’s interest in the 22-year-old comes in the wake of reports linking Richarlison with a departure in 2024. In addition, Manor Solomon is a long-term absentee due to a knee injury. But Real Madrid’s presence in the equation makes things interesting. Los Blancos can do with more competition for Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior.
So, Takefusa Kubo is a viable target for Real Madrid. But with Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham ready to trigger his release clause, a 2024 move worth €60 million might be on the cards. So, it will be interesting to see if the Japanese international becomes a Premier League player next year or remains in La Liga with Real Sociedad or Real Madrid.
