Liverpool must pay €100 million or more to sign Leroy Sane as Jurgen Klopp considers his options to replace Mohamed Salah next summer.
According to Fichajes, Leroy Sane will cost Liverpool €100 million or more next summer. Jurgen Klopp considers the 27-year-old winger as an option to replace Mohamed Salah if the Egyptian departs for Saudi Arabia.
Mohamed Salah Attracting Interest: Who Replaces Him?
Liverpool rejected a mammoth bid Al-Ittihad for Mohamed Salah on deadline day. The Saudi Arabian club might have come back with an even bigger offer in the following days had the Merseysiders indicated their willingness to sell the Egyptian.
Salah has been a sensational player for Liverpool and recently crossed the 200 mark for the club. The 31-year-old might consider leaving the club next summer when, as expected, the Saudi clubs might return with offers to sign the Egyptian.
Liverpool could view that as an opportunity for a big payday for their 31-year-old winger, as Jurgen Klopp might use the funds to rebuild his squad. The German boss has considered many options to replace the Egyptian, with Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia emerging as a target.
Leroy Sane on Liverpool Radar
Leroy Sane also remains an option, with Liverpool made aware of the need to pay big for the German attacker. Bayern Munich are aware of the interest in the 27-year-old winger and will demand at least €100 million from suitors next summer.
Manchester City are also interested alongside Liverpool as Pep Guardiola looks to re-sign his former star. They have not replaced Riyad Mahrez in the side and might see Sane as the experienced option to improve the attacking side.
However, Klopp remains keen to land the 27-year-old winger and might push towards signing him next summer. Sane’s contractual situation could also produce an opportunity for Liverpool, as he will enter the final year of his deal in June 2024.
While there are reports that Bayern Munich are keen to extend his stay, the Bavarians might cash in if a brilliant offer comes about. Liverpool, after the possible sale of Salah, will have the funds to splash on a star like Sane or any other star. Selling clubs will also have knowledge the Reds have the funds and might refuse to budge on their asking price.
There aren’t many suitable wingers around to replace Salah at Liverpool. For what the Egyptian has done, the next player in his position will need a big personality to fill his shoes at Anfield. Sane has the character, but so do a few others like Jarrod Bowen and Kvaratskhelia. But each player will cost north of €100 million in the current market.
