North London giants Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly contacted the representatives of 24-year-old Chelsea utility man Trevoh Chalobah.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Trevoh Chalobah is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. And the North London giants have contacted the entourage of the 24-year-old Chelsea utility man. Meanwhile, the Blues are ready to part ways with the versatile defender next year.

Trevoh Chalobah and the Rollercoaster Ride at Chelsea

Trevoh Chalobah is a graduate of Chelsea’s fabled Cobham youth division. The Englishman is a versatile defender who can play as a centre-back, a right-back, and a holding midfielder. He got his first-team breakthrough under the tutelage of Thomas Tuchel, who backed him to the hilt.

But Chalobah’s stock has fallen considerably since Tuchel departed from Stamford Bridge last year. The 24-year-old was in and out of the starting lineup under Graham Potter and Frank Lampard. Meanwhile, the player does not feature in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans, with Chelsea ready to part ways with him.

Chelsea had been open to cashing in on Chalobah in the summer transfer window. But a move did not materialise, even though many clubs tried signing him on Deadline Day. However, the situation has not changed much, with Chelsea still looking to offload him. Meanwhile, the utility man does not have a shortage of suitors, with many high-profile clubs, including Tottenham, interested.

Will Chalobah Join Tottenham?

Recent reports claimed that Tottenham had moved on from Trevoh Chalobah. So, the latest update is surprising, with TEAMtalk claiming the North London giants have contacted the English defender’s entourage. Nonetheless, the Chelsea utility man is a viable target for Tottenham.

Ange Postecoglou does not have many reliable centre-backs in his squad. So, it was not surprising when Tottenham suffered in the absence of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven. Chalobah is thus a viable target, with Tottenham being an attractive destination.

While the North London giants do not have any Premier League-winning pedigree, they regularly feature in Europe. Compare that to what his other suitors, like Crystal Palace, can offer, and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium becomes an appealing destination. With the club contacting Chalobah’s agent, it will be interesting to see if a move sees the light of day.
