Saudi outfit ready to submit bid for Anthony Martial

Al Ettifaq are reportedly considering paying €10 million to sign Anthony Martial in January, with Manchester United open to offers.

According to Fichajes, Manchester United might receive a €10 million offer from Al Ettifaq for striker Anthony Martial. The Frenchman has no future at the club after the Red Devils decided against triggering an extension in his contract, as Erik ten Hag remains keen on revamping his forward line.

Anthony Martial has no future at Old Trafford, as many remain puzzled by the fact that the forward has remained at the club and continues to play games. Erik ten Hag may not have many options for the centre-forward role with the Frenchman, and summer arrival Rasmus Hojlund is the only choice.

Manchester United have actively worked to sell Martial, but those have proved futile so far. The Frenchman even went on loan 18 months ago, but that spell at Sevilla turned out underwhelming. With the January window approaching, he does have interest in a few clubs, including PSG, if reports are accurate.

In any case, Manchester United decided against triggering an extension in his contract, which would have taken his contract until 2025. Hence, the indications about a departure are clear for Martial, who might even leave in January for the right offer.

Manchester United are not very sure about an imminent January departure, considering they lack options in that centre-forward role. The Frenchman might leave if the Red Devils manage to sign a backup striker to Hojlund, which seems very difficult in this market.

Either way, Martial can stay until the summer and then leave on a free when his deal expires. The forward had interest from Saudi clubs before, and now Al Ettifaq are reportedly considering making an offer in January. As per the report, Steven Gerrard’s side is open to paying around €10 million for the Frenchman, which will somewhat please Manchester United.

Al Ettifaq also had links with Martial’s teammate Jadon Sancho, but the latter will look to remain in Europe rather than jump the Middle Eastern ship. As for the Frenchman, he will consider his options, but the ultimate decision will come from Manchester United, depending on their situation in January.
