Saudi Pro League clubs are interested in acquiring the services of 27-year-old Manchester United striker Anthony Martial.

According to a report by Fichajes, Saudi Pro League clubs are keen on having Anthony Martial in their ranks. A few of the clubs from the Middle East wanted to sign him ahead of the 2023/24 season, but they could convince the 27-year-old regarding a move. However, the interest in his services is still intact, and they will return for his services in the future.

After making a name for himself while playing at AS Monaco, Martial joined Manchester United in the summer of 2015. The French international was amongst the best young forwards in the world and he was expected to be the next big thing.

However, he never really got going in England. While he did showcase his quality every now and then, the 27-year-old was not consistent enough in the initial years. And of late, he has suffered because of injuries. Martial has not been fit enough to feature regularly.

As a result, Erik ten Hag had no other option than to go big on a striker. The Red Devils ended up signing Rasmus Hojlund in the summer. They have paid £72 million to Atalanta to sign the young striker.

Martial is still a part of their first team setup. But, he is unlikely to be a regular at Manchester United ever again. Meanwhile, the French international’s contract at Old Trafford runs out next summer. At this point in time, there are no talks of a renewal, but there is an option to extend his stay by another.

It will be interesting to see if that option to extend his stay by another year is triggered or not. Irrespective of that, Saudi Pro League clubs will return for his signatures next summer. They have already spent a fortune on signing some of the best players from Europe and will continue in similar fashion next summer.

They wanted to sign the French international this past summer, but he decided against moving to the Middle East. While there is interest in his services from French clubs, the kind of money that Saudi clubs are ready to offer might be too tempting for the 27-year-old who has failed to fulfil his potential.
