Real Madrid and Manchester City are both interested in Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies and are keeping a close eye on his situation at the German club.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Real Madrid and Manchester City are both keeping a close eye on the situation of Alphonso Davies at Bayern Munich. The German giants have been trying to extend his stay at the club. But they have failed to meet the demands of the player, and talks over a new deal have stalled. As a result, a move away from the club cannot be ruled out.

Alphonso Davies At Bayern Munich

Alphonso Davies joined Bayern Munich in the winter of 2019, and he has gone from strength to strength since. The 23-year-old full-back is amongst the best left-backs in the world, and he is certainly amongst the fastest players in the world.

While he is an integral part of the German club’s first team, his contract situation has become the talk of the town of late. The Canadian international’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2025, and Bayern are keen on extending his stay.

They have been in talks with his representatives over a new deal for a long time. Davies is open to staying in Germany but he wants to be amongst the highest-paid players in the club. However, Bayern are not ready to meet his demands. As a result, the talks have stalled, which has left the door open for him to explore other options.

Real Madrid or Manchester City: Where Will Davies Land?

Real Madrid and Manchester City are two clubs keen on having him in their ranks, and they are closely monitoring his situation at Bayern. He has been on the radar of Los Blancos for a while now, and they have already contacted his agents over a possible move in the summer of 2024.

Ferland Mendy has often been subject to injuries, and he has not been consistent of late. As a result, Real Madrid need a new left-sided full-back and Davies could be a great acquisition. On the other hand, Manchester City have also been linked with him for a while now, and they are all set to revive their interest in him.

They could make a move in the summer if they see an opportunity to sign him for the right price. City do not have much depth in their ranks in the full-back department, and signing Davies will surely add depth as well as a lot of quality.

If Bayern fail to pen down a new deal with the 23-year-old before the end of the season, they will look to cash in on him in the summer. While he will only have 12 months left on his deal, Davies will still cost a fortune as he is amongst the best in his position.
