Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are keen on having the 24-year-old Borussia Dortmund winger Donyell Malen in their ranks.
According to a report by Fichajes, Arsenal are interested in acquiring the services of Donyell Malen. The Gunners are looking to further bolster their attack in the near future and have their eyes set on the 24-year-old Borussia Dortmund winger.
Malen was a part of the Arsenal setup back in the day but things didn’t work out for him and he ended up joining PSV Eindhoven. The 24-year-old went from strength to strength while playing for the Dutch club and then made a move to Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021 to enhance his potential.
The Dutch international has done a decent job since joining the German club. And, his consistent performances have resulted in a lot of attention from across Europe. While Dortmund haven’t been at their best in the ongoing season, Malen has done his bit with seven-goal contributions in his 18 appearances.
The 24-year-old’s efforts have resulted in interest from Arsenal. The Gunners want to bolster their attack ahead of next season. Mikel Arteta wants to add more firepower before the start of the 2024-25 season and he has suggested the board to sign the Dutch international.
The Gunners’ boss is quite keen on having Malen in his ranks as he will help them in multiple ways. He is versatile and can feature anywhere in attack. The Dortmund winger prefers playing out wide on the right and he will serve as an ideal backup for Bukayo Saka. He could start as the striker or could even feature on the opposite flank if needed.
His arrival will give Mikel Arteta multiple options to play with and it will surely bolster their attack. But, he is one of the many targets they have for the next summer to reinforce their attack. While he is an important player for Dortmund, the German club have always let their players leave for the right price and the same could be the case with him.
