West Ham United will look to launch a raid on fellow London club Crystal Palace to sign 25-year-old French attacker Odsonne Edouard.

According to a report by Football Transfers, Odsonne Edouard is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are in the market for a striker heading into the January transfer window. The 25-year-old Crystal Palace attacker has thus emerged as a viable target for the East London club.

Odsonne Edouard: A Tale of Inconsistency

Odsonne Edouard has struggled to stamp his authority since joining Crystal Palace from Celtic in August 2021. A former trainee at Paris Saint-Germain, the Frenchman rose to prominence after moving to Scotland. He often scored goals for fun and led the charge for the Scottish giants.

But Edouard has not matched the heights of his Celtic stint since arriving in the Premier League. While the 25-year-old has shown flashes of brilliance, he has not been a consistent performer for the South London club. That has also been the case this season as he started the campaign well but has fizzled out in the last few weeks.

The former Celtic striker has a tally of six goals in 13 appearances across all competitions. Nonetheless, Edouard’s stock remains high, with many clubs showing an interest in him. And West Ham United will be among his prospective suitors in the January transfer window.

Will West Ham United Bring the Best Out of Odsonne Edouard?

The Hammers are in the market for a striker, showing interest in players like Hugo Ekitike and Joshua Zirkzee. But Odsonne Edouard has also emerged as a viable target, with West Ham United reportedly lining up a raid on fellow London club for the 25-year-old attacker. His arrival will also pave the way for Michail Antonio’s departure.

Antonio was keen on leaving West Ham in the summer transfer window, with Saudi Pro League a possible destination. But a move did not materialise, as West Ham blocked an exit after failing to sign a replacement. However, Edouard’s arrival will be good news for Antonio if he still wants to leave.

The report claims a loan deal is possible, while the Hammers are not ruling out a permanent transfer. But it is unclear how much it will take for West Ham to sign the 25-year-old Crystal Palace attacker this summer.
