West Ham United and Crystal Palace could end up pushing for the services of 21-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike.

According to Foot Mercato via Sport Witness, West Ham United and Crystal Palace were both interested in acquiring the services of Hugo Ekitike during the summer. While neither of them could sign him during the summer, they could return for his services in the winter. And, with Paris Saint-Germain looking to offload him, Ekitike could end up featuring in the Premier League during the second half of the season.

After coming through the ranks at Stade Reims, Ekitike joined PSG in the summer of 2021. He joined the French giants on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy depending on certain situations. He had a decent loan spell and his move to PSG became permanent at the start of the summer of 2023.

Despite having a decent loan spell, the 21-year-old was not considered to be an important part of the team. He was not in the plans of Luis Enquire moving ahead. As a result, the club decided to part ways with the French Under-21 star.

While there was a lot of interest in his services, nothing concrete ever took place. PSG wanted to include him in the deal for Ranadal Kolo Muani. But, he was not ready to make that move to Eintracht Frankfurt. As a result, he ended up staying at the club.

The 21-year-old is currently training with their first team but he is well aware that he won’t get any game time. As a result, he is preparing to part ways in the winter and even PSG are ready to get him off their books.

Crystal Palace and West Ham United are two clubs that were interested in having Ekitike in their ranks during the summer. And, they could return for him in the winter. The Hammers are keen on signing a new forward. Michail Antonio is already 33 and signing a young forward at this stage will surely help their cause.

Meanwhile, the Eagles lost Wilfried Zaha during the summer. They might have signed a few players in the winter but Palace haven’t secured a replacement for Zaha yet. They do need a new forward, someone who can help them score goals and the 21-year-old could be a great fit.

The report by Foot Mercato suggests that there is an English club that is willing to go all out for the French youth international. While they haven’t revealed any names, they did mention the fact that the club was keen on signing him during the summer. And, Palace as well as the Hammers were linked with him during the summer, as a result, either of them could be the one that goes all out for the 21-year-old in January.
