Chelsea are all set to recall 19-year-old Brazilian defensive midfielder Andrey Santos, who is on loan at Nottingham Forest.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are ready to recall Andrey Santos to the club in the upcoming winter transfer window. The Blues are not happy with the current situation of the 19-year-old at Nottingham Forest. And, the West London club want to terminate his loan deal mid-season.

Andrey Santos came through the ranks at Vasco da Gama. He made it to their first team in the winter of 2022 and went on to make quite a name for himself over the next 12 months. Multiple clubs from across Europe wanted to acquire his services, but Chelsea ended up winning the race and signed at the start of the year.

The West London club let him remain on loan at the Brazilian club for another six months. He moved to England earlier this year. While the 19-year-old is an exceptional talent and has huge potential, he was not ready to be a part of Chelsea’s first team.

Moreover, the Blues signed Moises Caicedo in a big money move and they followed it up with the signing of Romeo Lavia during the summer. The arrival of the duo made it quite clear that Santos would have to wait before he gets his run at Chelsea.

As a result, the Blues sent him out on a season-long loan. Nottingham Forest showcased their interest and acquired his services in the summer. The 19-year-old sensation was expected to have quite a few minutes under his belt. This loan deal was supposed to give him a lot of experience. But, things have not gone according to plan.

The Brazilian midfielder has only featured in two matches for the Tricky Trees. His only appearance in the Premier League came as a substitute in the final seven minutes of the game against Liverpool. Chelsea were hoping to see the 19-year-old have sufficient first-team minutes to help him adapt to the style in England.

But, with Santos not getting the much-needed minutes to continue his progress, the Blues are all set to recall him from his loan spell in the upcoming winter window. Internally, the decision has already been made and if nothing changes over the next month, his loan move will end in the winter.
